Lift / Elevator

The elevator (lift) in the library building operates from the Ground Floor (Aras Bawah) to the Fifth Floor (Aras 5), making all these floors easily accessible. While all users may access the elevator, priority should be given to individuals with special needs.

  • Elevator service is provided from the Ground Floor up to Level 5.
  • Users are only allowed to use the elevator to go up and down within the library area only.
  • Entry to the Vice Chancellor’s Office area is not allowed unless there is official business.
  • Users are given guidance on the location of collections, rooms, or spaces in the library both inside and outside the elevator.

Improved Accessibility to All Floors

Elevators enable users with physical disabilities, especially those using wheelchairs or walking aids, to access every floor of the library easily. This ensures equal opportunity for them to explore collections, study rooms, and services on all levels.

Greater Independence and Convenience

With elevator access, users with disabilities can move around the library without needing assistance from staff or others. This promotes personal independence and boosts their confidence while using public facilities.

Safer and More Comfortable Movement

Elevators provide a safer way for users with mobility challenges to navigate the building, compared to stairs or ramps. This reduces the risk of falls or physical strain, making the library a more comfortable environment.

Supports Inclusive and Universal Design

By providing elevators, the library follows inclusive design principles, ensuring that the building is usable by all individuals, regardless of physical ability. This reflects the library’s commitment to accessibility, equality, and user-friendly services for everyone.
